Science Tech - Ocean acidication

  Today in science tech we were learning about why the ocean is so important. we did experiment about ocean acidication using a plastics cup , a shot glass, acid-base indicator , 40 ml water, 10 ml vinegar and 2 small popsicle sized scoops of baking soda.  Enjoy ! 

Lawyer paragraph

Last week in manawanui we had to write a lawyer paragraph using Write That Essay. Using write that essay was very cool as it gave fast feedback and helped me fix what I needed to. Here is a screenshot of my writing. I hadn't finished the last bit of it tho will update. Sorry It may be a bit hard to read.

Gamefroot game

 Today in cybersmart we carried on with our game froot game.Today mr four E taught us how to create a start game page. This was very fun I liked creating my own background and everything. This is my start screen.

Today for cybersmart we are learning/creating our own games using gamefroot. it wasn't as hard as i thought it was going to be. I did use the tutorial and went step by step it was extremely helpful for me because if hadn't used it at all i would have no clue how do code or do anything in my game. I haven't finished my game yet but i will update this blog post when i have finished  and I will add a link to it but for now here is a screen shot of my coding.

Delilah's discovery - WTE 10 min quick write

 “Look” sadi delilah as she pulled out a bone from a cabinet under the glass containing ancient fossils and bones. A museum worker nearby, rushed over to delilah (who he had been keeping a close eye on) to see what she had found. “ omg delilah you’ve found the missing bone” The worker shouted excitedly as he yanked the bone out of her hands and shooting it in the air. This bone had been lost for years and it belonged to the prehistoric moa that lived here thousands of years ago. Later that night delilah’s discovery was reported on the news. Delilah’s family watched intently on the screen to see what the news presenters would say about their amazing daughter. “ The eight of april nineteen - thirty seven the day that four year old delilah made the biggest discovery of all time” one of the news presenters said in disbelief.

“THIS IS THE BIGGEST DISCOVERY THAT’S EVER HAPPENED IN GISBORNE” boasted another news presenter. As delilah heard all these amazing things about her a smile spread across her face. Her family cuddled around her they were so proud of her.

Cybersmart - creating avatars

Today for cybersmart we made characters of ourselves. Mine is still a work in progress. I found that making the shapes and finding my feature that makes me...me and making my avatar look like it. My next step is to fix little bits on my face then create a body. when i finish that I will then upload this to my Mihi maker/pepeha.

Tommy's big catch - wte

 Tommy’s big catch

   “C’mon dad” Tommy said, tugging harshly on his dad's shirt.

“Wait a moment and come help me unpack” replied his father sharply.

Tommy and his father have just arrived at the wharf where they’re going fishing. As many people started to arrive at the wharf Tommy and his dad rushed to pick the best spot they could find. After unpacking the gear, Tommy and his father hooked bait on the end of their rods and began fishing. 

Slowly, time went by and still neither Tom nor his dad had caught a fish. 

“It may be time to go Tommy, we’ve had no luck today” dad began to say when.

“WAIT, look dad” exclaimed Tommy excitedly as he lifted a fish out of the water.

Everybody looked and stared. Dad rushed for his phone; he just had to take a photo. 

This was the first catch of the day and for Tommy ever. The fish - wet, slimy,massive - dangled from the end of the fishing rod, extravagantly shaking like a wet dog.

“Ready tommy” dad said smiling from ear to ear

Tommy raised the fish high in the air and smiles ‘ cheese’
